Hail Damage Repair in Lynwood

Hail is easy to miss because most of the damage can't be seen from the ground. We get on your roof, mark and photograph each hit, and tell you plainly what needs fixing. The same person you talk to on the phone stays on your job until the yard is swept.

What Hail Does to a Roof

Hail hits hard and fast. On asphalt shingles it knocks off the granules and leaves soft, dark bruises. Those spots age quicker in the sun and can crack within a season or two. On clay and concrete tile it leaves chips and hairline cracks, and older tile is more brittle than it looks.

Most of this damage is hard to see from the yard. Your roof may look fine and still have dozens of weak spots. That is why we go up and look, not guess from the driveway.

When you call, you talk to one person. That same person sets the inspection, writes your estimate, talks with your insurance company if you file a claim, and checks the work at the end. You do not get passed around.

What Hail Repair Includes

Every slope checked

We cover each slope we can safely reach, checking shingles, tile, ridge caps, vents and flashing. Softer metal like vent caps and gutters usually shows hail dents before anything else.

Each hit marked and photographed

Every damaged spot gets a chalk mark and photos from close up and farther back. The pictures are yours, so you see exactly what we saw.

New shingles or tiles

We remove the damaged shingles or tiles and install replacements matched as closely as we can source.

Vents, caps and flashing

Dented vent caps and bent flashing can let water in at the joints. Resealing or replacing them is part of the job.

A look at the gutters

Hail washes shingle granules into gutters and can dent the metal itself. We check both and let you know if the gutters need work.

Help with your claim

We work directly with your insurance claim, give your adjuster our photos and notes and explain each step to you. Coverage is the adjuster's decision, not ours.

Signs Hail Got to Your Roof

  • Granules in the gutters

A pile of coarse, sand-like grit at the downspouts after a storm means shingles lost their coating.

  • Dents on soft metal

Look at your vent caps, gutters, downspouts and even the AC unit. Round dents there usually mean the roof got hit too.

  • Dark spots on shingles

Bruised shingles show black or shiny patches where the granules came off. They may feel soft when pressed.

  • Cracked or chipped tile

Broken corners or fine cracks across clay or concrete tile. Pieces in the yard are a clear clue.

  • New stains inside

A water mark on the ceiling weeks after the storm can mean a cracked tile or split shingle is now letting rain through. If that is happening, our roof leak repair page explains how we trace it.

Steps in a Hail Repair

  1. 1

    One call sets the visit

Call to book your free inspection, and we choose a day that suits you. English or Spanish, either works.

  2. 2

    Marking and photographing

We check the roof, mark each hit and take pictures. Then we sit down with you and go over everything we found.

  3. 3

    Estimate on paper

You get a free written estimate with every item on its own line. If the hits cover the whole roof, we say so and talk through roof replacement. If a repair is enough, we tell you that as well.

  4. 4

    Insurance and the work date

If you file a claim, we meet your adjuster or send over our photos. When you give the go-ahead, we order material and book the day.

  5. 5

    Fixing and cleaning up

We protect plants and walkways, make the repair and sweep the yard with a magnet for nails. Before we go, your contact walks the finished roof with you.

What Sets a Hail Repair Price

Hail jobs never price out the same. Cost follows how much got hit, your roofing material and what turns up underneath. All of it is on paper before work begins.

Number of damaged spots
A handful of bruised shingles on one side is a small job. When every slope took hits, a full reroof can be the smarter spend.
Shingle or tile
Asphalt shingles go in faster. Tile needs more care, and finding a match for older tile can take a while.
Wood under the roofing
Where water came through a crack, the boards below may be soft. We replace damaged decking only where we find it, and we show you.
Dented metal
Vents, flashing and gutters that need replacing add to the total.
What the claim covers
If your claim is approved, covered work follows the adjuster's scope. You pay your deductible and anything outside that scope.

Questions After a Hailstorm

Something not covered here? (310) 987-4459

Can hail really hurt a roof in this area?

It isn't common, but strong winter storms do bring it. Even small hailstones can bruise shingles that have baked in the sun for years, and older tile can crack. A look after the storm gives you a sure answer.

Who do I call first, you or my insurer?

Either is fine. Plenty of people call us first to find out whether there is real damage before they file. You get our photos and notes regardless, and then you decide if a claim is worth it.

Will you work with my adjuster?

Yes. We work directly with your insurance claim and can meet the adjuster up on your roof, point out each chalked spot and give them the same photos you received. Coverage is their call, not ours.

Will the new shingles or tile match what I have?

We come as close as possible. Shingle colors shift over the years and sun fades older ones, so an exact match isn't always possible. You see samples before we place an order.

How long is the repair?

Once material arrives, most shingle repairs take a day. Tile and bigger jobs can run longer. Your contact gives you the date in advance and keeps you updated.

What if you find no damage?

Then that's what we tell you. You keep the photos, get a clear answer and pay nothing for the inspection.
